DanIDL-Lite: Features

The latest version of the DanIDL-Lite library is v2.0. It contains 170 individual modules, each with full documentation and specifications on input/output. A few modules use functions from the IDL Astronomy User's Library and it is therefore advisable to also install this library for full functionality. DanIDL-Lite does not come with the C++ versions of the code. The IDL code is highly optimised for speed and reliability.

If DanIDL-Lite modules are used for any work that is to be published, then I would appreciate the addition of the following sentence in the acknowledgements: "This research has made use of the DanIDL library of routines (http://www.danidl.co.uk)."

Modules and functions in v2.0 of DanIDL-Lite are organised into the following broad subject areas:

  • Array.Manipulation
  • Astrometry
  • Astronomy.Algorithms
  • Bad.Pixel.Mask.Processing
  • Checks.And.Tests
  • Constants
  • Conversions
  • Data.Manipulation
  • Filename.Operations
  • Fitting.Routines.Linear.Combinations
  • Functions.General
  • Image.Processing.General
  • Math
  • Matrices
  • Polynomials
  • Sequences.And.Series
  • Set.Operations
  • String.Operations
  • Text.File.Operations
  • Times.And.Dates
  • Vector.Processing.General
