DanIDL - IDL Solutions for Science and Astronomy
DanIDL
is a highly-optimised library of functions and routines written in the
Interactive Data Language (IDL).
Developed mainly for use in astronomy, the library also supplies general scientific and programming applications.
Careful parameter checking is performed making routines robust and reliable, and the library is set to expand and develop
over the next few years.
Development work for this library is non-funded. In other words I work on it in my own time! For this reason,
a lifetime subscription to the DanIDL library is charged as a one-off payment (see
here for subscription rates).
These funds cover my website hosting and administrative costs, and a small fraction of the time I have invested in
this project. A subscribed user will have lifetime access to all released versions of DanIDL via a password protected
download page.
I also provide IDL programming services.
Please contact me by email for further information. I am available to write IDL code
for most projects, develop custom modules, and I am especially handy at developing code for complicated problems.
Finally, I offer an IDL code optimisation service.
IDL programs can be much slower than necessary if not written using the
most efficient techniques. Challenge me with the task of speeding up your code!!! I can usually achieve improvements of
at least 2x faster, and sometimes up to 10x faster. If I cannot speed up your code by
at least a factor of 1.5x, then I will provide you with the optimised code for free.
